The Faculty of Business and Management


The Faculty of Business and Management is a top and promising structural unit of the University of “Turan-Astana.” Training at the faculty is carried out on 6 bachelors degree programmes and 5 masters degree programmes at the state and local governments, national companies, manufacturing companies, the banking system, research centers, and educational institutions.

The faculty consists of 2 departments: the Department of Economics, Accounting and Evaluation and the Department of Finance and Management.

The Department of “Economics, Accounting and Valuation” offers three bachelors and two masters degree programmes.

The Department of “Finance and Management” provides three undergraduate majors and three masters degree programmes.

Each year the faculty takes part in the ranking of educational programmes.
In 2014, in accordance with the rating of the Center of Bologna Process, the academic mobility profile of the Faculty of Business and Management were awarded the following places:

  1. Bachelor level:
    — Accounting and Audit — 5th place;
    — Economics — 10th place.
    2. Master level:
    — Economics – 5th place;
    — State and Local Government – 6th place;
    — Accounting and Audit – 7th place.

Students have great opportunities for acquiring skills and economic and organisational work during their practical training at enterprises, organisations, companies, government agencies, banks of different levels, fiscal municipal authorities, in the region, the Republic, and countries near and far abroad.

The Implementation of Internal Academic Mobility.

The academic mobility of students is carried out in the framework of interuniversity cooperation agreements in the field of providing educational services for the purpose of teaching on student exchange programs, internships, research practices, and participation in summer semesters.

For example, in the framework of academic mobility, students of Aktobe University could study for one semester at the University of “Turan-Astana.” The active cooperation of students on academic mobility expands the educational environment of the faculty and contributes to the competitiveness of graduates in the labour market, both in the region and, overall, across the country.

Students and faculty are actively engaged in research activities. Every year, more than 250 undergraduate and graduate students present papers at scientific conferences and participate in research projects at international and national competitions.

The students of the Faculty of Business and Management students who have the title of “Candidate of Masters in Sports” in different sports are included in the national teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Students become prize-winners of the sporting events held in the Republic of Kazakhstan and countries both near and far abroad. Thus, in particular, student Baygaliev Temirlan is campionatului Kazakhstan in archery. Student Erminat Zhasulan – multiple champion of Kazakhstan in Kazakh wrestling. Other outstanding achievements made by the students of the Faculty of Business and Management include Boxing and barbee’s football.

Thousands of graduates are successfully employed in all regions of Kazakhstan, and far abroad. One of the most effective measures for obtaining graduate employment is the annual “Career Fair.” In it, employers inform students about vacancies and the necessary expertise to meet the demands of the labour market, as well as the conditions for them to hire graduates. Annual graduate employment from the faculty is more than 75%.
